Weeds

Roses are red,
Violets are blue;
But they don't get around
Like the dandelions do.

A weed is but an unloved flower.

 - In the spring I can not help but notice all the dandelions and honeysuckle.  A lot of people don't like them and call them weeds (okay they can get out of hand and take over a garden plot) but I have always found them cheerful and bright!  To me seeing a field blooming full of bright yellow buds and puffy delicate white balls of fluff is beautiful and brings memories of being a little girl and bringing my mom dandelions thinking they were flowers (until my dad started making me pull weeds and I found out they were not desirable flowers) or making wishes as I blew away the fluff and watched it float away in the wind. Lets just hope they stay in the empty fields and grass and not amongst the herbs, vegetables, and big flowers!

  1. We like dandelions--in someone elses garden. We just pull the spent flowers off, so they can't re-seed.
