Every Smile.... A memory!

a true and genuine smile may be recorded for now, but treasured as a memory for a lifetime . . . .

This Quote expresses why I love taking pictures! You can capture life.. the good, the bad, and the ugly!         I got a bit nostalgic here lately thinking about how often my sisters, cousins and I sit around Indian style on grandmas living room carpet and look through pictures some new, some old.... moments remembered and moments that happened before we were even born! Every single moment in the past, we can't go back, can't relive it and most everything in those photos is different now but we can look back and remember and laugh, cry, and go through almost every emotion imaginable. All because someone had the idea to bring a camera!  I love it!  It seems more and more lately that I have my camera permanently attached to my hand! Three Cheers to the fellow shutterbugs out there!

Last Breath of Summer

Fall is in the air..... Football games, Tailgating, Hoodies, and Bonfires. The evenings are cooling off, the sun is setting earlier and soon the leaves on the trees are going to start to change and Mother nature will show her warm colors and fall brilliance. However Here in the midwest, the weather hasn't QUITE gotten the hint that it is fall. The weather is beautiful in the 80's during the day and 60's at night.  I am noticing all of the last hold-outs of our long wonderful summer. Roses and Dandelions still abound so here are some photographs of the pictures I took.
Of Course Duncan enjoys this Indian Summer of warm days so I took him out with me to take pictures :)

                                               Whatever the Season

The Earth is Tilting on its axis as the world spins round.
Soon the leaves will fall to the ground.
Whatever the season beauty can be found.
All you need to do is look around.

Busy Busy Busy Bee!!!!

Whew.... I am finally taking a breath and a chance to tell you what I have been up to lately...

First was my DH's HUGE family reunion complete with:

Fabulous Cake and Homemade Mexican Food

Yummy Classic Dinner Food Every Morning We were There :)

A Pinata for the kids
And a Dance complete with DJ and twinkle lights :)

The reunion was a blast with all the family fun, good food, and dancing...... Duncan stayed at Grammy's house and was entirely exhausted when we picked him up at the end of the weekend, all he did was sleep the whole way home and most of the next day. He didn't even want to play with his favorite ball. I would like to think he missed me terribly but I know he was just worn out from a weekend of fun with my Mom's dogs :)

Then was my Nephew's Birthday...... FUN FUN FUN!  He is growing up too fast and I just can't keep up with him

Then this last weekend was the most fun....... My nephew's first Pee-wee football game (full pads/ tackle football) or Gridiron as they would call it in Europe :0) It sure put me in the mood for fall!  The boys were all so cute and here is the best part....... the Little girls (including my niece who is two  years older than my nephew) get to be cheerleaders!  they learn routines and are honest to goodness cheerleaders! They have learned many of the cheers that the highschool cheerleaders did when I was in school!  Sigh.... it sure brings back old memories!

For now I think I will just kick back with a blackberry mint smoothie and relax with duncan since the hubby is at work!

Rainy Days........

The rain that I wished for before finally came, pardon the pun but it "Rained like Cats & Dogs yesterday!
Every time it rains I just want to snuggle up with a good book, my hubby, and my dog and listen to the thunder!  I don't know what it is about a thunderstorm but they relax me. Its like all of the B.S. that goes on throughout the week doesn't matter anymore, it is all being washed away.  I always feel refreshed and at peace!

Rain

The rain falling softly upon her face,
Takes her to a magical place.
The rain falling softly in her hair,
Lets her soul float upon the air.
The rain touching her lips,
Give her the breath of life in little sips.
The rain falling softly from the sky,
Lets her know that heaven,
Is where good souls fly.
