OFFICER DUNCAN!

Okay I have kept you in suspense long enough about what Duncan is going to be for Howl-o-ween :0)

If you couldn't tell by the pictures LOL In honor of the men and women and K-9 officers who keep us safe every day,  duncan is going to be a police pup for Halloween this year :0) 

He hates the hat ( I don't blame him.... its cute but ANNOYING with the straps and all)  and only keeps in on for a second so most likely it will not be a main part of his costume ....   Oh well...... 

National Handwashing Day!

We can do some great things with our hands, but the best thing we can do is wash them. 

TODAY IS GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY

CLEAN HANDS

SAVE LIVES!

* This was the e-mail message sent out today at the hospital where I work and I thought I would share the love! We even had an activity in the hall where you could take a minute and spray "Fake germs" that show up under UV light on your hands then go and wash up to see how well you actually clean your hands by putting them under the Blue light to see if anything still showed up :0)  Your hands look something like THIS:

  I did quite well..... not a trace of blue stuff after I washed!  YAY ME! 

  Don't forget to stop the prevention of germs by washing those grubby paws :0)

Monday Monday

MONDAYS

Mondays can be stressful.

Mondays can be busy.

Mondays can make you miss the weekend.

Mondays can put you in a frenzy.

What we all need to remember about Mondays,

and all days as a matter of fact,

is that they only come around once a week,

and it takes a whole week before they come back!

It seems like Mondays are always busy, hectic, and full of grumpy people mourning the loss of another beautiful but all too short weekend.  So I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and got through their day with a smile on their face and  I think I am gonna kick back this evening with a nice cup of hot tea and enjoy my monday evening....... heck I won't have to deal with another monday until it comes around next week! ;0) 

Disappearing Squirrels

Along the way I finally spotted signs of fall!  Leaves were falling everywhere!

Finally a Fall Leaf!!!!!!  (the trees aren't changing to rapidly around here)

We went for a Walk at the park on Saturday. It was REALLY funny!  Duncan still can not figure out that squirrels are quick climbers so every time he sees one and it disappears up a tree he goes to where he saw the squirrel and sniffs and looks around wondering where in the world the elusive little critter went and why it didn't want to play with him! Thus we spent half of our time sniffing trees and walking around in circles HAHAHA!  Hopefully soon the trees will fully change and I will get some good pictures. Oh and stay tuned because I still need to post pictures of Duncan in his halloween costume and I do believe that some pumpkin carving is in order very soon! 

Stop To Smell the Roses

 

I love fall but I think I am having trouble letting go of summer....... The leaves haven't started changing yet and although it is getting a little cooler at night, the days are still sunny and bright  but ya know what, on second thought that might be EXACTLY why I love fall!  The weather is beautiful, no more stifling heat! So the above pictures are just a bit of fun that Duncan and I had today while out and about!  I have been a little bit reclusive lately and thought a lot about things lately. I realized that Life has its ups and downs and I have been a grumpy gus lately but NO MORE!  I am going to try to appreciate the things in life that make me a lucky girl!

1) I have a roof over my head and food to eat and clean water to drink. This is simple and something we all take for granted but it is a MAJOR blessing!

2) I have a husband who loves me and is my best friend. He makes me laugh everyday and although I get angry or annoyed with him, he is my world!  He is a rock when I need it and bends with the winds of change when I need him to!

3) Duncan..... okay I can not say enough about this little guy in my life!  He brings joy, laughter, peace, companionship, and a bit of spunk to my world! He is always there with a westie grin and a happy dance when I get home and no matter how crappy my day was, he makes it better! He is unyielding in his sweetness and is the one presence in my life that never judges or shows anything but kindness. I guess that is why they say "Life is Merrier with  O' Terrier!

                                          
These are just three things off of the top of my head that I know make me lucky. There are many more things in my life worth mentioning but that would make for a LONG blog so I will just suffice to say that Big and Small there are millions of things to be grateful for everyday and I count my blessings!
